Our Funeral Home Services
Marketing With Social Media

Unlike traditional marketing outlets (brochures, fliers, broadcast advertising, and even websites), social media marketing isn’t as about selling your services. It focuses on generating publicity, conversation, and interaction. Social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, and YouTube teach you about your funeral home’s current perceptions, give you insight about improving your business, and help you interact with potential clients.

By posting interesting content through social media channels, you open the doors to multiple viral conversations. This means that people will interact with your content and share it with other people. Social media content typically ranges from text and widgets to audio recordings and video.

Facebook / Twitter Creation only

For Best Value-level customers, this literally means simply creating a Facebook page or setting up a Twitter feed that uses the same logo (optimized for each service's image guidelines), as well as the name and description of the business in the appropriate places on each service. Once created, we will hand over the operations (and login info) to the customer.

Facebook / Twitter Creation & Support

For Premier- and Elite-level customers, we enter into a more consultative relationship in regards to social media. This means creation of the page/feed as outlined in the above paragraph, but also includes:

  • Strategic development: Help the customer develop a program with the aim of building brand awareness, driving customer engagement, improving customer service, and more. Educate client as to how social media relates to their business and existing off- and online marketing.
  • Content development: Once built, the pages need to be fleshed out with, in the case of Facebook, photos, wall postings, comments, other useful info (ie, staff bios), and in the case of Twitter, posts (or "tweets"). Status updates and feeds can be used to tell fans about specials, events, contests or anything of interest. We can help our customers get started by helping to develop this content, and help them develop a social media editorial calendar for themselves.
  • "Friend" seeding: The currency by which social networks operate is connections or "friends." How many people are "following" you on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites is often dependent on how many people you're following, and how well (and how often) you convey invitations to connect to other sites. We'll help our customers build up a following by seeking out relevant friends, and by sending out "friend" invitations, via the services, email, even the client's own website.
  • Engagement: Social media websites are not as much about selling your services as they are about publicity, conversation, interacting, and engaging with fans and critics alike. It's an opportunity to listen to what people are saying (good and bad), and to pick up ideas for how to improve your business, and it requires being an active member of the community, responding to your fans' posts, making comments on other peoples posts and pages. We will help show our clients how to be good social network citizens, and how to turn online feedback into actionable information.
  • Training: In order to overcome any internal obstacles to social media, we can help shortcut the learning curve, helping our clients and/or their staff learn in days what would otherwise take months of trial and error. This includes key terms to understand, the tools themselves, how to monitor the conversations going on about them around them, and tricks of the trade.
  • Unique Programs: The unique nature of social media services like Facebook and Twitter present some interesting, fun and unique marketing opportunities. And compared to traditional marketing, the costs are minimal! We will work together with our clients to create a buzz about something that relates to your products or services using social media to promote a contest, community event, a fund raiser or something else that makes sense to your business.
